In addition to our own sets, we offer sets from the North Meadow Croquet Company. These are the same sets that we formerly sold as Forest Industries (formerly The Paris Company) sets. Like Amazing World sets, they are made in America. The mallet heads are made from hard Maple. These are the only croquet sets we’ve found that offer high quality recreational components, designed for backyard play, at a modest price.
The mallets are very similar to ours except the Newport and Hilton Head. All mallet heads are solid hard maple just like ours. The Newport mallet heads are hard maple with a slightly smaller diameter than the other sets. The Hilton is the only complete set we offer with rectangular heads, though we do offer rectangular heads in single mallets and mallet sets. We offer direct replacements to the North Meadow sets and our own, more extreme, one-piece rectangular headed mallets. To see our single mallets, click here. Don’t be fooled by manufacturers offering cheaper mallet heads with steel band reinforcement. The bands don’t protect the wood like they should. The wood can still splinter because it’s not hard enough wood to begin with and the steel bands can chew up your croquet balls.
Though the sets below are high quality backyard sets, they do have screw type handles and they don’t come with Amazing World Wickets or wicket clips. The wickets in all Norh Meadow sets are high quality powder coated steel 0.25” squared wickets. North Meadow sets are not guaranteed for extreme croquet but they are guaranteed for one year for backyard play.
